Well, Writely is back, and now re-open for public release. I wrote about Writely before since I was an early account holder. Writely has been closed to new users now for several months, but if you are interested in trying it out, you have open access now.
I was very disappointed in it before and had not had any desire to log into it during the last long while. However, when I read the news release that they had re-opened it to public registrations, I decided to see if the code generation improved in the least.
So, I logged into my old account and saw the single document I made before for the first review. I started to make another one just like it. It crashed Firefox. I reopened and logged in again and started over. It crashed Firefox again. I decided to give it one more shot. Yep, you guessed it, Writely crashed Firefox again. They say the 3rd time is the charm, and at that point I decided I had seen exactly all I needed to see about the ‘improvements’ made for this public release.
